Description
Supports Army aviation airworthiness verification and safety assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting software safety and mission assurance evaluations, audits, and assessments for proposed and existing Army aviation software architectures and programs. Provides technical expertise to Software Safety Assurance in responding to software design and operational concerns. Supports software requirements identification and development process by evaluating and assessing planning, design, development, production and operations for Army systems software architectures. Performs Systems Safety Hazard Analysis (including listing all potential failure mechanisms and worst-case scenario effects on the system). Prepares and writes formal Systems Safety Hazard Analysis Reports to categorize and summarize all potential software and software-hardware interaction hazards. Performs Software Reliability analysis using commercially available software reliability tools. Performs safety-critical and mission-critical software systems analysis throughout the life cycle from initial requirements through design, implementation, testing, delivery, and support. Utilizes written and oral communication skills to successfully interact with customers on a daily basis.

- MS degree in a technical or scientific field
- Background in Army Aviation systems evaluating airworthiness releases and engineering change proposals
- Experience with IBM Rational products, DOORS, Clearcase, or Clearquest
- Knowledge of the integration and verification of large systems
- CMMI experience
