Dynetics Joins Space Transportation Association

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Sept. 8, 2011 – Officials at Dynetics, a provider of commercial and government space-related products and services – as well as aviation, missiles, cyber and intelligence offerings – announced today the company has joined the Space Transportation Association (STA).  The objective of STA is to support policies that advance robust, affordable space transportation for NASA, the Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial markets. The Association’s corporate members are launch manufacturers and launch service providers.

The mission of Dynetics Space Systems is to deliver products and services affordably and responsively to meet the needs of the civil, military and commercial sectors. Dynetics’ solutions include launching to orbit, responsive systems on orbit, and planetary landers and rovers.

“The Space Transportation Association’s mission is directly in sync with what Dynetics wants to accomplish in space,” said Steve Cook, director of Dynetics Space Technologies. “We are continuing to expand our footprint in the space industry, and by joining with other companies in the Association, we can more effectively get our message to policy makers.”

STA shares views with government policy makers through the STA breakfast series, small group meetings, Coalition for Space Exploration support, visits to NASA and DoD centers, and conferences.

Richard Coleman, president of STA, said:  "We are pleased to welcome Dynetics to the Space Transportation Association.  STA has long admired Dynetics for its leadership in space technologies and systems.  Dynetics  joins a group of companies that are committed to the advancement and sustainment of viable, affordable space transportation."

Along with Dynetics, STA members include Aerojet, ATK, Ball Aerospace, ITT Defense, Lockheed Martin, Paragon Space Development Corp, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, United Launch Alliance, Honeywell, Orbital and Wyle.  The Association was founded in 1989 by Lt. Gen. Dan Graham.
