Dynetics Announces Additions to Business Development Team |

HUNTSVILLE, AL, December 22, 2009 – Dynetics, a 35+-year, Huntsville-based technology company, added five new employees to its Business Development Department. Z. Kevin Reece, Todd C. Burwell, Philip S. Freeze, Darren E. Gero and Garry Waggoner are responsible for identifying, pursuing and supporting growth opportunities for the company in various technical areas. The Business Development Department is led by Robert S. Dowling.
Z. Kevin Reece has been named business development lead for the Integrated Systems and Special Programs Operating Unit. He has worked with Dynetics for 27 years, providing management support to Boeing in Test and Evaluation and Systems Analysis and Simulation for the Ground Missile Defense Program (GMD) for the past eight years. Reece has worked in various departments at Dynetics conducting intelligence-based research and analyses. He also spent six months in Paris, France, for the company, working with IBM to develop a diagnostic tool for repairing and servicing Peugeot automobiles. Reece is a member of the National Military Intelligence Association (NMIA), the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, the American Management Association, Toastmasters International and Societe d’Honneur Francaise (French Honor Society). He graduated with bachelor’s degrees in English and French literature from Samford University and a master’s in English literature and linguistics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Todd C. Burwell has been named business development lead for the Hardware and Intelligence Operating Unit. He has worked with Dynetics for eight years, serving the last three as manager of the Signals Intelligence branch providing support to the Defense Intelligence Agency/Missile and Space Intelligence Center in the areas of electronic support, signals intelligence (SIGINT) and electronic warfare databases. He has also supported the Defense Intelligence Agency/National Center for Medical Intelligence developing databases, models and data analysis tools to study the public health capabilities of foreign countries; performed software testing for the U.S. Army; and worked on the development of high fidelity seeker models for the National Air and Space Intelligence Center.Before joining Dynetics, Burwell served in the U.S. Air Force as a scientific analyst and was an electronic warfare systems analyst at the Air Force Information Operations Center. He also served as an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences and as the officer-in-charge of the wrestling team at the U.S. Air Force Academy.Burwell is a member of the Association of Old Crows, the American Statistical Society and the Military Operations Research Society. He is also a board member of the Schools Foundation and an adjunct instructor at Calhoun Community College. He has a bachelor’s degree in physics from Lenoir-Rhyne University and a master’s in applied physics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Philip S. Freeze has joined Dynetics as a business development manager responsible for Aviation and Missile markets. He has spent 20 years as a senior business development manager with DRS TEM, BAE and Texas Instruments, all in Huntsville.Freeze is active in the defense and aerospace community as a member of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), and as past president of the Huntsville Aerospace Marketing Association (HAMA). He earned his master’s degree in management and supervision from Central Michigan University, where he wrestled for three years and participated in the Olympics wrestling qualifications. Darren E. Gero has joined Dynetics as a business development manager to support Dynetics’ move into space-based markets. He previously served as a business development manager for Teledyne Brown Engineering, where he was responsible for developing and leading marketing activities for NASA and Department of Defense customers. Gero has a bachelor’s degree in information systems and decision sciences from Louisiana State University and a master’s in management from the Florida Institute of Technology. He is captain of the TOC (The Orthopedic Center) Huntsville Adult League Soccer Team and is active in Cornerstone, his Sunday School class at Asbury United Methodist Church. Garry Waggoner has joined Dynetics as a business development manager in the Information Technology and Cyber domain. Formerly with Teledyne and most recently with General Dynamics IT, he has more than 15 years’ experience in strategic planning and capture management. Waggoner has a bachelor’s degree in business from Columbia College in Columbia, Mo., and earned master’s degrees in defense acquisitions and project management from Florida Institute of Technology. Active in the community, Waggoner is a member of AUSA, NDIA, and HAMA.
