Dynetics, a 35-year, Huntsville-based technology company, has promoted three employees in the Intelligence division, Michael W. Durboraw, Jason M. Gallaspy and Stephen W. Thomas. The Intelligence division at Dynetics analyzes all-source intelligence data to characterize the capabilities, limitations and vulnerabilities of foreign weapons systems. This division also provides the Department of Defense and the intelligence community with models and simulations, electronic warfare databases and test and evaluation services. Michael (Mike) Durboraw has been named deputy manager of the Intelligence division. He has worked with Dynetics for 12 years, serving the last four as deputy manager for the Scientific and Technical Intelligence department, building teams to provide threat systems analysis to various customers within the intelligence community. He is a key member of Dynetics’ support to the Threat Modeling and Analysis Program and has been instrumental in transitioning the company’s in-depth threat systems expertise to U.S. developmental programs.Prior to his employment at Dynetics, Durboraw worked on various upgrade programs for the Standard Missile in a joint venture between Raytheon and Hughes Aircraft Company. He also supported developmental test and evaluation programs for the Office of the Secretary of Defense during his employment with Science Applications International Corporation. Durboraw is a member of the Association of Old Crows, Redstone Rebel Roost and Sigma Gamma Tau, an aerospace engineering honor society. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Auburn University and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Jason Gallaspy has been promoted to manager of the National Intelligence department from the position of Missile Systems Intelligence branch manager. In his new role, he will help lead Dynetics’ efforts in supporting national intelligence agencies and their customers. During his 11 years at Dynetics, Gallaspy has supported multiple members of the U.S. intelligence community in threat weapon systems analysis, modeling and simulation. Serving in both project manager and technical lead roles, Gallaspy’s experience includes missile systems, radio frequency (RF) and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors, directed energy weapons, space systems and phenomenological/environmental effects. Gallaspy is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Huntsville Electro-Optical Society. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He has also taught internal short courses at Dynetics, as well as external courses through University of Alabama in Huntsville professional development. Stephen (Steve) Thomas has been promoted to manager of the Radio Frequency (RF) and Electronic Warfare Solutions department within the Hardware and Intelligence operating unit. Thomas has worked with Dynetics since 1996, serving the last four years as manager of the Radar Systems Intelligence branch. He has experience supporting the Department of Defense and the intelligence community, including the U.S. Air Force, the Defense Intelligence Agency / Missile and Space Intelligence Center and the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, in analyzing foreign surface-to-air missile systems. His experience has included foreign materiel exploitation of numerous air defense radars, real-time software development, range testing, high-fidelity modeling and simulation and electronic countermeasures analysis. Thomas received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Association of Old Crows. James Young, a veteran employee of Dynetics, has been promoted to Technical Integrator for Cyber, a new senior position in the company. Young will work with departments across Dynetics to identify and develop new areas where the company’s capabilities can meet customers’ needs in the cyber market.Young has spent his 30-year career at Dynetics supporting the Intelligence community, most recently serving as manager of the Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&TI) department. He grew this department to one of the largest in the company with customers that include every member of the S&TI community, along with members of the national intelligence and electronic warfare communities. In his new position, Young will support the development, integration and awareness of net-centric solutions involving multiple organizations at Dynetics. He is responsible for ensuring that Dynetics’ advertising, business pursuits and offerings in cyber reflect all the company’s relevant technical capabilities.
